Furnace Giveaway Contest
To honor our Stateline area Veterans and current members of the military, Axberg teamed up with Rockford’s Country Q98.5 to give away a furnace for Veteran’s Day, 2014. Nominations were accepted through Q98.5 for a two week period, and over 50 Rockford area Veterans were nominated to receive a new furnace from Axberg, free of charge, just in time for winter. The response from the community was overwhelming!
Selecting a Furnace Giveaway Winner
The hardest part of this contest was choosing a winner. We narrowed it down to the five entries we felt were most in need of a new furnace, and asked Rick Sperando, President of our Black Diamond family of companies, to choose the winner. The Veterans’ stories moved him so much that he couldn’t select a single winner – he chose all five finalists! Instead of giving away a single furnace, Axberg would be installing FIVE brand new Bryant energy efficient furnaces in the homes of Veterans in the Stateline. Axberg also gave a free furnace precision tune-up (a $119 value) to each of the remaining 45 nominated veterans, as well as a discount on any necessary repairs.
Installing New Furnaces for Veterans
The first step in warming the homes of our winning Veterans was to measure each home, perform a load calculation and select the properly sized furnace. This is part of the process of every Axberg furnace installation to ensure that the furnaces we install are sized correctly to provide the comfort, efficiency, and reliability we are known for in Rockford. Installations for the winners were completed by the middle of December 2014. Our installers enjoyed meeting and talking with each Veteran and hearing stories from their service.
We give thanks to the Rockford community for such strong support in nominating Veterans for this contest, and also to Rockford’s Country Q98.5 for being such a wonderful partner in giving back to the community.
